About the Phoenix Zoo
The Phoenix zoo is located at 455 N Galvin Pkwy, Phoenix, A 85008. The Phoenix zoo is a nonprofit organization and is privately owned, this, therefore, means that all its funding comes from generous donors, memberships, special events, concessions, and admissions. The Phoenix Zoo opens all year round, it opens from 7 AM to 2 PM daily from June through August, and in September through May, it opens at 9 AM to 5 PM.
The Phoenix zoo accommodates and cares for more than 300 animals including threatened and endangered species. Some of these species are sometimes bred and then
released into the wildlife, this is done as a part of the zoo’s conservation program.
The Phoenix zoo is divided into four trails which include; the African Trail, Arizona Trail, Tropics trail, and the Children’s trail. Visitors of the zoo should expect to see animals such as giraffes, Zebras, Sumatran tigers, Asian elephants, Borrean orangutans, and others. At the Arizona trails, visitors get to see the native mountain lions, Sonoran Pronghorn Javelina, Bobcat, and Mexican gray wolf.

The Phoenix Zoo offers varieties of tours include a 45-minute walking tour, a 90-minute car tour, and a backstage tour. Getting to see the animals at the zoo is not the only fun thing to do at the location, rides and special features are all part of the programs at the Phoenix zoo. The Phoenix Zoo offers its visitors other adventures like the Stingray Bay which involves feeding real Stingrays swimming in a 15,000-gallon pool. A 4D Theater that shows “shows films that
incorporate the sense of sight, sound, smell and touch. The Giraffe Encounter lets visitors feed giraffes at scheduled times. The phoenix zoo also offers unforgettable camel rides to is visitors whether adults or kids.
The Phoenix zoo also hosts multiple events at different times of the year, these events include; the Zoo Fair (which is a fundraising event) Zoo Light, and the “winter in July”, all these events are for fun and enjoyment of the visitors.
